Visitors visa for parents of a British citizen

I am hoping someone can help me with this. I am a naturalized British citizen. My parents have successfully been granted a 6 monts visa initially. Now they are planning to apply for a longer term. I think 10 years would not be possible but would there be any chance for them to get a 5 years visitor visa straight from 6 months or would it be safer to apply for 2 years this time? They are 60-70s. Thank you in advance

Depends on their nationality and other circumstances.
How long did they stay for the last time and was it for the time stated at application?

Hi, they are Turkish nationals. They stayed for a week last time as stated in the application.

There is a reasonable possibility that a 5 year visit visa would be granted. If the Home Office decides to grant say anther 6 month visa or a 2 year visa instead bear that in mind.

It is same for 6 months or 5 years, it is all about ties to the home country. The stronger the ties the easier it is to achieve a grant of leave.
