2 years old funding with skilled worker visa

Post by lokeshrao » Fri Mar 08, 2024 6:06 pm

Hi all,

Not sure if this is right forum. Could someone clarify if the skilled worker visa holders are eligible for applying 2 years old funding from April 2024 please?

I tried gov UK site but confused. The salary is 70k plus so below 100k.

The forum deals mainly with immigration matters. Sought for best help from forums that deals with this. Especially with the new brackets announced.

The current government guidance would imply not as:

“Your immigration status
To be eligible for free childcare, you must have a National Insurance number and at least one of the following:

British or Irish citizenship
settled or pre-settled status, or you have applied and you’re waiting for a decision
permission to access public funds - your UK residence card will tell you if you cannot do this
If you have a partner, they must have a National Insurance number too.”

In what way do you think the eligibility differs?

3 years old is universal funding 15 hrs.. irrrespective of the immigration status.
while 2 years one has some statement of income, eligibility, public funds accessetc.

for us- it is no access to public funds so i think i cannot apply for the 2years 15 hrs route till we get ILR. ??

Meaning of “person in the United Kingdom”:

(iii)not a person subject to immigration control

https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/202 ... ulation/11

You are subject to immigration control.
