Seeking Clarification Regarding 20 hour work limit

Post by LocaFiz » Fri Mar 08, 2024 11:25 am

Hi guys I'm an Msc student, and previously i have been working with a single employer and have never exceeded 20 hours limit.

However i recently joined a 2nd employer, as things became competitive under the first employer.

Now I work for 2 employers but i have also never gone above the 20 hour limit

Now here is my dilemma. My first employer sends payment for work done after 1 week, while my second employer sends payment for work done after 2 weeks.

Because of this, on some weeks my NI receives payment from the 2 employers. This might make it seem like I'm working above the 20 hour limit but i have never done that.

I have decided to document the payslips which show the dates i worked to defend myself if ever necessary.

Has anyone gone through this or can tell me if my saving my payslips is enough as i have never worked above 20 hours in a single week

Don't cross the w9hrs allowed weekly work limit. Continue to keep the records.

This is all that matters.

The work restriction is about the number hours you can spend working. It is not about how, when or how much you are paid.

Obviously, your employers are not working together to monitor your working hours, so you may find that you need to refuse to work more hours if one of them asks you to do that.
I do not give immigration advice. I refer you to Immigration Rules, guidance, other online content and to your sponsor.
