very confused please help

Hi,
I am hoping to get some advice about my husband joining myself and our daughter in the U.K.
Some background..We married in Turkey in 2004 and lived together there until last January(2008) In 2007 we had our daughter (she was born in the U.K) after her birth we returned to Turkey. We discovered that she had a medical condition that we could not find treatment for in Turkey so I had to return to the U.K alone for her to be treated.
My husband was in the final years of his degree course and needed to stay in Turkey at the time. We had hoped to apply to come back to the U.K as a family together after he graduates but with the need for medical treatment being urgent that was not possible..
I found myself back in the U.K with no money. Husband is a student and earns a little bit of cash but not enough to help me at all, I was working in Turkey teaching English. This left me needing to apply for benefits..my daughter and I moved into a flat when she outgrew the room at my family home.
I really have no idea what we should do now. My husband has a 2 year visitor visa which runs out in June. We want to be together as a family so He can work here and support us. I don't know where to start..please can anyone advise me? He has missed most of our childs first year and it's putting a huge strain on both of us.

If your are settled or British, then your husband may apply for a spouse visa from Turkey.

I am British and our daughter is also British. I am worried that we will have a problem because I am now claiming housing benefit and income support. We have no savings left. Do any of you know what happens in this situation? If my husband can come here and work then I can get off the benefits! We don't want to make any mistakes in our application. * The British/settled spouse/civil partners may claim Working Tax Credits and Child Benefit for his or her family if they are entitled to this under the Department for Work and Pensions legislation. There is no objection to the British citizen/settled sponsor receiving any public funds to which he/she is entitled in his/her own right. The important factor to consider is whether there will be a need for the sponsor to claim additional public funds to support the applicant. The fact that an applicant may not be eligible to claim public funds is not in itself sufficient to satisfy the requirements of the Rules.

If possible can he apply for jobs in the UK. I know it is a difficult time in the UK for work but as your spouse he does not need to worry about restrictions other non EEA nationals have. If he has work to go to - however poorly paid (above legal min of course) it will help your application.

I was wondering about that..he is looking at job websites at the moment. The problem I see is finding someone willing to hire him before the visa goes through..I have no idea how long it could take?
