Any idea what visa is needed for a family member from EU who has to remain in UK to care for a child? Hopefully on a temporary basis but long term ie more than 6 months

What nationality is the child?

What is the relationship of the person to the child?

Where is the eu citizen now?

Unless the EU individual is the parent of the child and the child is a British Citizen I doubt there is an immigration route to achieve the outcome you are seeking.
