Spouse Visa Financial requirement

Post by AndyGee » Tue Mar 26, 2024 1:54 pm

Hi

I was wondering if I can get a bit of guidance before my partner submits the 1st application of the Spouse visa this weekend.

I am paid 4weekly and earnings are non salaried based on £11.98 p/wk (week rate) and £15.98 (weekend rate) on 30hrs weekly but this varies from week to week. we were hoping to use Category A to satisfy financial requirement.
The Gross amounts are as follows:
22/03/24 £1612.38
23/02/24 £1788.12
26/01/24 £1914.79
29/12/24 £1633.26
01/12/24 £2572.24 (includes backpay)
03/11/24 £1351.60
06/10/24 £1464.00.

we have included 7months (28weeks) as my pay is 4weekly and not monthly. Annual average equates to £22910.44 YTD is £21321.69. On the financial questions, we are stuck on which one to choose
- Same income continuously, above financial requirement or not the same income continuously, above financial requirement.
as the question requests for 12 months payslips and not the 6months and I have been with the employer since 2018 Any help will be appreciated at this point. ta

Thank you for your reply. So just to get this correct are we able to use category A even though they have requested payslips & bank statements for 12 months or will Category B be more suitable as the calculation covers the requested period?
My Annualised figure would over the threshold as I have been employed over 12 months. I just do not want to contradict myself. Thank you for your help in advance

Why go for B when you meet requirements for A?
Whichever one you decide to go for will be OK, only more documents for you to supply for Cat B.

Hiya. My intention was to apply with Category A but was thrown off by the financial question "not the same income continuously" and it requesting for 12 months proofs. But yes, makes sense to use Cat A, thank you.

There is backpay in the series of payments. Is the backpay for any period before the first salary payment quoted.
If the payment includes a period outside of the six months then I would go for Cat B to be safe.
It just stops any issues or delays if queried.

Hiya, yes the backpay is for period April 2023-December 2023 so that is partly outside the six month period
