It does not necessarily mean that the visa has been approved. Please wait until your passport arrives through Blue Dart. Keep us updated.

Good luck.

Well this could very well mean that the VISA has been approved. In HSMP days if the EC was approved BHC used to send passport and other dox through Blue Dart to the applicant directly. In cases of rejections, BHC advised the applicants to pickup their passports from the VFS office. So if the have not changed the practice (I really dont know about this) your VISA has been approved.

Sending by Blue dart depends on option selected while submitting application form. It has nothing to do with decision. If you haven't opt for using that service, you need to collect it from VFS office in either case, and vice versa.

True BUT what I said applies (infact in HSMP days) to the cases where the applicant chose for a courier delivery. And as I said it was the practice during HSMP days. So even while one chose for a courier delivery, if the application was rejected it was sent to the concerned VFS and not to the applicant. As noted, I am not sure if the practice is still in place.

The message on track your application page used to be "Case Closed, Documents have been sent to the Applicant through Blue Dart)"

I'm from HSMP days, and it was never case, once you paid for a service(courier) , they can not ask to go to VFS office, that's why one pays for courier. I've seen rejected applications coming by courier

Gotcha, I usually do not post information which is not based on verifiable facts. Otherwise I use a lots of ifs and buts and mays and mights as I have done in this case.

However, re the practice under HSMP rules (post Nov/Dec 2006) I have reasons to be sure about what I said. This is from one of the earlier posts on the forum:
http://www.britishhighcommission.gov.uk ... 3392320145 - this BHC link is not available on their website now but the member has copied the relevant matter below :

If we issue the visa ----------------------
Courier delivery: If you have paid Rs 735/-, a Blue Dart courier will deliver your passport to your home. You will need to hand over the stamped photocopy of the receipt to the courier to get the delivery.

Collecting your passport: If you have paid Rs 565/-, you will be able to collect your passport from the VFS office where you applied during the hours listed above.

If we refuse the visa
------------------------

Your passport and other documents will be handed over to you at the British Deputy High Commission after the interview, or at the VFS centre where you applied, on the next working day.
This discussion is in no way going to be helpful to the member who posted the original query but I hope this clears our understanding (atleast re the practices in place, earlier).

from your post(or original post you pasted here),
If we refuse the visa
------------------------

Your passport and other documents will be handed over to you at the British Deputy High Commission after the interview, or at the VFS centre where you applied, on the next working day.
It tells about refusal after visa interview, which happens at BHC. Not about normal refusal. There is no mention of normal case.

And there are lot of blanks in pasted info.

So I was correcting you. I know people got refusals through couriers, in HSMP cases.

oh oh, that means if you appeared for an interview and the VISA was refused the passport will be returned to you immediately at BHC after the interview. In case there was no interview then the same will be returned to VFS for collection on the next day of such a decision.

As I said, the link does not exist anymore so I can not therefore fully corroborate what I have said. At the same time as I have no reasons to not believe you (and you obviously would have no motivation to provide misinformation), I would tend to go by what you say (under protest obviously  ). In any case this does not help the member who raised the original query so let us leave it at the agreed position. Thanks.
