Visitor visa refusal - advice on 2nd application

Post by vimto4 » Sun Apr 14, 2024 6:50 pm

Hi,

I'm planning on bring my father-in-law and sister-in-law to the UK to visit my wife.
The first visa was refused for the following 3 reasons:

Reason 1: Inconsistencies in application. On one application I put 14 days, on another I put 10 days.
- Solution 1: Double check on the 2nd application for clerical errors like this.

Reason 2: Bank statement inconsistencies. They both have variable income as they're self employed, and as my sister-in-law is dependent on my father-in-law for income, I put just his bank statement, with a lump sum payment put in there.
- Solution 2: I'm going to sponsor the trip in full. Is this a good solution? I think it will avoid any further bank statement scrutiny on their end, as their income is quite volatile, and I hope it is a legitimate enough "change of circumstances". What do you guys think? In this case where I sponsor, I only have to upload my bank statements right? If I sponsor the visa and upload my bank statements, will this alleviate any previous financial inconsistencies? I have around 5k GBP to spend on this.

Reason 3: Ties back to home country (India). This I think might be the hardest one, there is a family business which may help, but no other dependents, or studies, or anything else like that. Proving income/ties for my sister-in-law will be hard and she is dependent on my father-in-law.
Solution 3: unsure at the moment. Maybe photos with extended family/friends? And more evidence about the family business. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Solution 2
Bank statements will still be required from your relatives regardless. Large deposits from you will cause issues as well. Your financial situation does not overcome their financial situation.

Solution 3
The business ties and the obvious financial issues from above suggests there is little reason for a caseworker to believe that is a sufficient tie. It is the exact opposite in the mind of a caseworker. Business not consistent and not financially sound would point to a reason not to return.
As for photos of friends etc, worthless as they are exactly that some photos of people.
Given the family members that remain in India and the lack of ties, attempting to bring the entire close family to the UK points to an attempt to join the family in the UK. This is regardless of the stated intentions etc.
You will have to provide evidence of ties that are compelling to point to their return.
Do they own land, have close relatives such as grandchildren / nieces nephews that they are involved with on a regular basis? Can you demonstrate that?
