Hello,
We must all be experiencing the great frustration of delayed Defined CoS processing times- with no indication of how long it till take to get a reply.
So let's keep a track of how long it's taking. On this thread note the date your application was made and the date a decision was made
For us:
DCoS 1- Applied 19/12/2023 Decision on 19/01/2024
DCoS 2- Applied 22/01/2024 Still awaiting decision
DCoS 3- Applied 13/02-2024 Still awaiting decision (obviously!)

We applied on the 6th of December. Asked for more data (care home organisation charts etc) on the 11 of January, and we supplied it on the 16th and we have been waiting ever since. We are a bonafid carehome, CQC registered and we should have got this on the 1st ask. In total we've been waiting 113 days (72 days since last submission)! No response to emails, what a terrible terrible service!

Everything was cancelled, wasted over 100 days waiting. Re-submitted, went into PENDING, then UNDER REVIEW, then submitted 20-ish documents, then GRANTED! Hurrah!
Am waiting for the certificate code because the DCS Request Number not the same as the certificate number!

We applied for 3x DCOS in 23 March 2024. Our company was 6 month old with running payroll and every thing. unitl 03/04/24 We had no respone. We received an email saying all DCOS are canceled and you need to apply again on or after 05 April 2024. We quickly resubmit the 3X DCOS on 05 April 2024 @ 9:01AM.
After 3 days we got an email for extra documentation with 10 questions about company and why we need these 3X DCOS. We explain each and every job to home office with why we need them with company hierarchy chart, office lease agreement, Draft job contract, and perfoma sent by home office to fill. plus all the name of the candidates and there passport no etc.
on 17th April 2024 was the dead line to send everything back to home office. We send every thing to home on 17/04/2024@ 8PM. but we withdraw 2 DCOS and reply for 1DCOS as there was error on salary details with 2 of them
Next day on 18/04/2024 @11AM 1X DCOS got allocated. Now we are planing to apply for the rest of 2 DCOS.

Dear all
anyone has idea whats happening on DCOS a month now and still says "Under Review"
Could all this delays due to General Elections happening Now ot new Changes we had actually paid for quicker service still no reply

We have applied for a Defined COS on the 3rd of September and we are still Under Review. We have an Undefined COS transfer in the system too and that was submitted in early July, and an enquiry letter was sent too. This lack of service is quite appalling. On the HMRC system, they at least report the date for which they are currently processing and the date upon which you will get an answer (for PAYE Registration and VAT Registration).
