ILR Query

Dear Team,

My visa got issued on 20th March 2020. I was not able to come because of covid.

I Renewed my visa stamp and arrived UK in November 2020. Collected my BRP Card(issued date mentioned was March 2020- March 2025).

Left UK again in December 2020 and came back in August 2021.

My Employer ready to extend my visa until March 2026(based on fact that my employemt got started in November 2020, though BRP issued in March 2020.)

Can i apply for ILR in March 2026?
Will i be granted ILR as my stay is less then 5 years(because i was absence from November 2020-Aug 2021)?

Can i be issued ILR based on if my:

Starting Date to be considered: August 2021
End Date: March 2026
Total Time: 4 years 7 months

No, you won't qualify for ILR. You will need an extension.

You should be able to apply for ILR in August 2026.

Isn't ILR counted in Backward time. If i started from March 2026 to August 2021(it will cover 4 years and 7 months) which is covering less than 180 days absence in UK.
