Revoke ILR

Post by AzimScot » Sat Jan 03, 2009 9:57 pm

I heard the government plans to introduce a power to revoke an ILR if there is evidence 5, 10 or 15 years after getting ILR is abused and the marriage was by deception and there is evidence of it.

Is it true? I recall reading something on this forum but cant remember.

We will seek to revoke indefinite leave to remain rendering the individual liable to expulsion where there has been abuse of the marriage route. We will set out our approach in a Statement of Intent in the Autumn. If appropriate, we will amend the law in the forthcoming Immigration and Citizenship Bill.
However, they already have the right of Revocation of indefinite leave that was obtain via deception.
