Assistance Required for IHS Fee Discrepancy in Tier 2 General Visa Application

Post by ksirfan » Thu Jun 13, 2024 4:45 pm

Hi Guys,

I am currently applying for a Tier 2 General visa from India for a duration of 5 years (Start Date: 22-07-2024 to 22-07-2029). However, the IHS fee is coming to £5910, which should be £5175. I've attached a screenshot of the details for your reference.

I suspect they have added an extra 6 months of IHS fees plus a £200 conversion charge fee, which is the only explanation I can come up with. After researching, I found a similar issue on forums stating: "The visa will have 14 days added to the CoS end date; therefore, the duration is more than 3 years. While the system can disregard this additional 14 days when calculating IHS for the main applicant, it does not do so for dependants. This has been a known issue as the system will add a 6 months increment." I've attached the screenshot with the details for further clarity.

I have been unable to find any direct contact information for resolving this issue. My sponsor contacted the business line, and they advised that the increase in fee could be due to the dates but couldn't provide detailed information. They did mention that any reimbursement would be done automatically.

From the forum discussions, I understand that contacting them via email is the only way, and there is a concern about refunds not being given.

Could you please guide me on the following:

How to address the IHS fee discrepancy?
What steps should I take to ensure a refund if the fee is not automatically reimbursed?
What are the contact details for resolving this issue?
Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Kind regards,

Irfan
