English Langauge Requirement - Urgent

Post by gaugupta » Mon Jan 05, 2009 9:08 am

Hi All,

My friend has done his MCM from DAVV his degree appears in Qualification section and he is able to claim 35 points.

But for English Language Requirement to gain 10 points he is unable to claim as he is unable to pick his degree.

So Kindly tell me letter from college/university is required or he has to give english test.

He has to write a test. See below from the Guidance note:
193. Where the applicant is unable to find details of their qualification on the points based calculator, UK NARIC will not be able to verify whether a qualification satisfies the English Language requirement. In these circumstances, applicants should either present an alternative qualification from the points based calculator if they possess one, or select an alternative means of satisfying the English Language requirement.

Friends..

I too have a query on the Qualification..

I have done by M.Sc (Tech) in Geology from Andhra University..

in the Points based calculator..

1. In Qualification:I choose Master's Degree..

2. Institution - Andhra University

3. In Course Subject should i choose Science/Maths or Technology?

because there is no Science (Tech) in the Subject...

My Master's Degree Original reads as

Degree of Master of Science (tech)

Or do you think to be on safe side.. i use my

Degree of Bachelor of Science which is on the PBCalculator? still i qualify with those points...

or Should i fill the application as Masters and send both the degree's and mention it in the cover letter for them to choose?

Thanks again

As long as your degree certificate has the following lines ... awarded Masters of Science in Technology...go ahead and use Masters Degree and then choose Technology (Course). If you are too risk averse then you can go for Bachelors too as you would still meet the poits criteria

Push_hsmp.. thanks for the advice..

I will send both the Original Degree's and mention in the cover letter to use Bachelor's if they are not convinced with Master's...

Though Andhra University states College of Science and Technology..

my Degree certificate reads

Degree of Master of Science (Tech.) did not spell it out completely as Technology though it meant the same..

Thanks again for ur time...
