June 2024 Citizenship Ceremonies naturalisation certificates

Post by KyukChick » Wed Jun 19, 2024 3:33 pm

Hello all!

I know this is very presumptive given the first ceremony was on 10th June, but starting a topic to track the receipt of certificates with the hope that the Minister's comments at https://www.oireachtas.ie/en/debates/qu ... -05-15/77/ have been implemented. If so, please post when you start receiving certificates via registered post (as is expected).

I find it interesting how she can now tell us the previous delays were related to “unforeseen issues with printing.” This topic came up numerous times in TD queries since the beginning of the year and this was never mentioned.

Hopefully you all get them soon! (Btw, first time passport applications are currently taking 4-6 weeks)

Already 10 days gone. Nothing yet. It will at least take a month if she says 2 weeks. Let's see.

Waiting for Leo's optimism from the Upcoming Ceremonies to check in here 😄

I’m with Leo. It took me years to get through the process and an additional 10 weeks to receive my certificate when it finally ended due to what I just now learned was “printing issues.” Interestingly, the applicants from the December ceremony also waited 10 weeks for theirs, and it was roughly the same timeframe for previous ones, so how could this be unforeseen?

The entire process had very little transparency, so I would also be skeptical of anything being stated until real actions supported it.

While it has taken time in the past, I would be cautiously optimistic about it being faster this time around. There certainly have been improvements in their processing speed with applications and it's possible we may see this in effect in the cert issuances. I stand to be corrected of course! Best wishes to those attending the ceremony today 😎

Where did you see the minister saying 2 weeks? On the link mentioned in this post she said they will be sent in a matter of "weeks". As I as I'm concerned that could well mean 20 weeks or 10.

She didn't say 2 weeks, I said it will take a month minimum if she says 2 weeks. :D

The latest confirmation of registration emails said "Your certificate of naturalisation will be sent to you via registered post within a couple of weeks".
This is possibly more reliable than words from a politician?

Previous registration emails said the same and it still took 10 weeks…

Hopefully I’m wrong as I know how painful this is, but I’d be prepared to wait.

Yep, don't trust a single word written in the email about certificates as well as words coming out of the politicians.

Hoping printing and verification was within the 2 weeks, and now the van full of certificates is sitting with An Post!

The certificate printing process should be relatively faster now that the picture has been removed.

Why do they ask for the photo upload if the picture has been removed? I don't believe that there is no picture on the cert.

I uploaded my picture for the February ceremony and the certificate did not have my picture on it. I thought it was a mistake, but others here from the same ceremony confirmed theirs did not as well. Perhaps this is the new standard or it was just an issue with the certificates issued from February.

That is why I previously said to ensure you submit your original passport with your passport application or it will likely delay that process. This was not previously required if resident in Ireland with a valid PSC card.

Really? Such an important document can be printed without photo.
Unbelievable

Personally I find a regular post super helpful! Coz otherwise just sitting wondering - and mainly worried that once people get the cert through you'll forget about the rest of us still waiting

Seconded! 😅 Also, it will keep the topic 'trending' so that people see it at the top and therefore won't start a similar one.
