Adding UK born children to ILR application

Post by Samanyolu » Wed Jul 03, 2024 10:01 pm

Hi All,
I have done my ILR application last week and have biometrics appointment in UKVCAS on 6th July.
Fortunately I found this forum when searching about adding UK born children into ILR application.
From various posts here I understood clearly that there is no need to add UK born children into ILR application, so advice needed here on this please:
1. Shall I withdraw my ILR application and make new application without adding UK born children? Or
2. Go ahead with this, get ILR (hopefully) and immediately apply naturalisation for UK born children -however adding two children with priority service costs a lot and would rather prefer to divert that cost into naturalisation

Did anybody have similar situation? What would you advise?
Both parents are applying to ILR.
Many thanks!

UK born children do not need ILR to be registered as British (children do NOT naturalise). You may withdraw their application and apply only yourselves to save money.

Thanks for your reply! Very good suggestion.
unfortunately I have seen some posts that in case withdrawing the application, refund may not come in 3-4 weeks and so no chance for me to reapply without that refund :(
I think I have to go ahead with my current application,
Thanks again

Why not withdraw the UK born children’s ILR applications and register them after you are granted ILR and after getting the refund? Unless they are nearly 18 years old and had not spent their first 10 years in the UK.

But I have only one application I did adding all family members - do you mean withdraw only Uk born child application via using UAN?
Is that possible? They are 4 and 1 years old.

Actually can I make a new application without withdrawing the existing (but not decided) ILR application? I have understood the previous will be refunded in that case.

But I only couldn’t get if this is possible in the same route so ILR to ILR instead of indeed varying it.
Any idea?

It may be possible to vary as some had succeeded to select the priority service with this method. But varying also require payment.

Also possible perhaps is that the UK born children not enroll their biometics? Is it similar to Dependents and ‘part payments’?
