Where to disclose parking ticket (PCN) by council

Post by graddev » Thu Aug 22, 2024 9:13 pm

Hi all,

I'm applying for British citizenship and as per the guidance will declare my only parking ticket (Penalty Charge Notice) on the application, but not quite sure where to disclose it. Is it supposed to be under
"A penalty for a driving offence, for example disqualification for speeding or no motor insurance"?

Additionally, I'm a BRP holder by after staying for 5 years for work visa. In order to prove 5 years continuous residency, I plan to use a copy of my passport. I have UK stamps dating back 2019,2020,2021,2022,2023 and 2024. However, I realized that only 1 out of 3 trips abroad(from UK and back) have an UK arrival stamp for 2024. Would that be a problem? Do I need to provide additional documents in this case?

Thank you,

Parking tickets don't need to be declared!

The selected option in the image attached "No, I have never had any of these" is the correct.

Missing stamps on the passport is not an issue at all.

Thank you, that's interesting. The guidance document clearly says, parking must be disclosed?

This has been discussed here on the forum before, the guidances could have some ambiguities and/or are not always that strict. That "must" can be misleading but the same highlighted paragraph explains when these are taken into account as criminality. Also the same form gives examples of what constitutes motoring offences.

If you see other posts with similar queries, members having PCNs haven't declared them and their citizenship applications proceeded with no issues.

I see, thanks. Yeah it's not like that it would affect the application but I was more concerned if the HO would create extra trouble for me for such a minor thing.

If you paid your PCN you will be ok.
