Hi All,

Do I need to inform the Nationality team about the new passport?

For context, I currently hold a Chinese passport but I'm eligible to have a Macau passport ( special administrative region of the People's Republic of China)

I'm thinking of obtaining one because I have a plan to travel to Europe with my partner for a family visit and also have a small wedding in the city where he was born. (tried so many times to obtain an appointment for a visa, but it seems impossible)

As far as I know, I will need to link it to my E-visa but not sure how will it impact the ongoing application.

Shouldn't have an impact, but you can't go wrong with informing the HO about this change in circumstances.

Morning all,

Can I straight to the ICE process without a formal complaint review?

I got the response from the initial complaint after 2 months delay as per usual they couldn't uphold it. and I have forwarded it to the review team for a formal review straight after. But I suspected or worried they might deliberately delay or not respond at all. (I apologise for the negative tone, I had completely lost faith in the process. A lot had happened)

Thank you.

You can, but it is very likely that it will not be considered without a formal review as that is their process.

Thanks contorted_svy, it really is a pickle for me as there won't be any guarantee they will reply to the review request. or should I wait 20 working days if no response from their side and submit the ICE complaint without it and attach the cover letter explaining that I have attempted to complete the process but to no avail, will it give a better chance for them to look at my case?

It is hard to answer the question - we know that they expect to receive a complaint review in order to look at the case. Hard to know if there is anything that would make them deviate from their process. You could also try to escalate your case to the new Under-Secretary of State for Migration and Citizenship https://members.parliament.uk/member/4253/contact

Thank you all.

Should I wait a week or two before contacting the council? I haven't received the invitation email yet.

It did say the invitation email will be sent within two weeks of the decision notification date (Haven't received that either)

Should I drop an email to citizenship support for an update in this case?

You can wait one more week I think, you got the response to your complaint only a few days ago. In a week's time go ahead and contact the council and UKVI email addresses.

Thank you as always, I was expecting the atlas email today, I guess it is still processing internally.

Horray! You should be able to schedule the ceremony soon after.

Yes!! I didn't expect them to reply to me this quickly. The email came at 7 pm, and I only sent it on Monday.

I have booked the ceremony for next month.got travel plan for family issue so have to push it to next month.

Meanwhile, hypothetically do I need to report any personal circumstances change to Home office before I attend the ceremony such as getting married, moving house etc?

No requirement as far as I know, unless you commit a serious crime perhaps.
As current ILR holder and then British citizen there is no requirement to update your address.

No need to report you are travelling. Just attend the ceremony once you are back.

Hi all,

The council told me I could attend the ceremony on a much earlier date. But it is before my travelling date and there won't be enough time to get the passport etc.

Bit of context.

My BRP expires at the end of Dec (I have e-visa) and my travel date is in early Nov.

Is it feasible for me to travel on my current passport (Visa nation) and use BRP to board the plane?

I guess you booked the ceremony for next month after your trip abroad - why are you changing it now?

In theory, there is no issue with travelling between the decision date and the date of the ceremony if you need to, using your passport and the BRP.

Hi Thanks for the reply.

It is just very tempting when there a much earlier date is available.

I would leave everything as it is now and attend the ceremony once back from the trip.

Your BRP is still valid until you get the naturalisation certificate. The eVisa is irrelevant at this stage.
