Is it okay if I don’t register E-Visa?

Post by be123+ » Sun Oct 06, 2024 12:03 pm

Hi.

Having brp that is ended on 31/12/24 and have read that the brp will change to e visa.

Is it okay for not registering e visa? I supposed Ilr is not expired.

If I travel abroad from other country and come back to the uk with the passport that is from non visa country. I suppose the immigration will be no problem?

Can anyone let me know what is the consequences for registering the e visa first?

Thank you

Just going by what I understand from various posts here:
If your passport is not linked to your eVisa how do you prove your immigration status at the UK border (or within the UK), i.e. your ILR?
At best you will be admitted as a visitor with a reminder to register for your eVisa!
The consequence of registering is that your status is properly recorded against your current passport.
Not registering might/will mean some delay at the UK border.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
Please do not send me private messages asking for advice.

Hi.

Thank you for your response.

My understanding is that to prove right to work is the same like e visa? I have been asked to generate code previously and not sure whether this is going to be the same platform like e visa? Or is it the same thing?

I have also tried to login using the same user name that I used to generate code for employer and unable to see any details from the website where to see e visa. I also have seen online that the details for e visa is similar like prove to employer.

As per now I have not received any email from home office to register for e visa.

I understand that my passport might not be linked to my current passport but can I use other evidence like old brp to the border or print a right to work from online as it says indefinite leave to remain.

Thank you.

Anybody with a BRP can now register for an eVisa. No need to receive an email from UKVI to register.

The right to work platform is a different thing. A right to work code/information is used for employment purposes, it has no relevance for travelling.

The eVisa system is still under deployment, perhaps in the future it might be possible to have access to all the relevant information from the same platform? Nobody knows these details yet.

You need to register on the eVisa system, why do you not want to do so? People who don't may encounter issues in the near future once the system is deployed. Printing something that relates to right to work would hardly be convincing for an airline as that could be easily falsified.
