BRP to evisa after submitting application for naturalisation

Post by samgam23 » Mon Oct 07, 2024 8:11 pm

Hi Everyone,

Please, I’m in need of your advice. I applied for naturalisation using my BRP before converting it to evisa therefore my naturalisation application contains details of my BRP. My BRP, similar to all BRPs expire on 31/12/2024 and I may have to travel on work early next year. Hence, would I be able to convert to an evisa to travel whilst I await a decision on my naturalisation application even though the application was submitted using my BRP details? I only ask this as I’m uncertain as to how long it would take on hearing back after biometrics are done.

Looking forward to hearing back your thoughts on this query.

Thank you very much.

Kind regards.

Your BRP is valid as per the date of your naturalization application, even if your application hasn’t been decided before the end of the year. You can still apply for the eVisa.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.

You should still apply for the evisa if you plan on travelling out of the UK before you become British. The whole process could take between 6 months to whenever. Because you'd still need to apply for a travel passport!
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
