Spouse Visa exact date

Post by AGM23 » Tue Jun 11, 2024 2:51 pm

Greetings All,

My wife is already in UK on spouse visa, she arrived on 10th April 2022, on her BRP it says date of issue 07-02-2022 and Valid until 08-11-24, Question is when does she need to apply for extension exactly? I am assuming 28 days before 08-11-24? is this correct?

Or do i need to calculate 30 months when she first arrived on 10th April?

Confusion is whether to consider date on her BRP and count 30 months or date of first entry to UK?

Appreciate if someone can clarify? i did ask this question while ago but not sure if i got the clear answer or at least its been a while since,

Thank you.

She needs to apply anytime before the expiration of her current visa. Latest date would be 8/11/24. 2 days, 5 days, 15 days or 28 days earlier don't matter for you.

Thanks Ticktack,

So the fact she arrived on 10th April 2022, I should not count that date + 30 months that would be up on 10/10/2024 and if I was to apply 28 days earlier then this should be around 12/09/2024 , and just apply before her leave expires as per BRP? i.e

Just conflicting as two dates are not the same, and don't want the issue of she being put on 10 Year ILR route just because we applied too early or too late.

Thank you for your input

To avoid shortfall for her ILR SET M, earliest date to apply will be 28days before completing 30 months in UK counted from the date she entered UK on spouse visa.

This will be from 12/09/2024 till the expiry of current leave.

Thank you Amazonian,

As always really appreciate your time.

Ok so as I understand, 30 months since the day of arrival in UK (10th April 2022) so any day from 12/09/2024 i should submit the application, and should disregarded the expiry date on BRP which is 08-11-2024, (difference of almost two months)

Thanks

Means earliest date to apply 12/09/2024 and latest date to apply 08/11/2024 which presumably is the expiry of current leave

Yes this is correct, 08/11/24 is Valid until date on BRP.

It does make sense now, thanks Amazonian

Spouse Visa Extension

Post by AGM23 » Sat Oct 05, 2024 3:53 pm

Hello All,

My wife is due to apply for Spouse visa extension following completing previous stay.

She currently doesn’t work, so will be relying soley on my income.

I am British Citizen, I have been working for same employer for 2 years and 8 months as operations manager. However I have just been promoted as General Manager and moved to different location and have already started as of 30th September 24
but still same employer.

So question I have is what position do I write on her application? Operations Manager still? Also employer letter do i need to mention the change or explain this in a cover letter. Also income has now changed as well due to promotion so what salary do o mention on application? Salary that I will be getting or my previous Salary?

Also will 2 P60’s be enough? or more required?

Appreciate your help.

Thanks

You can add your promotion letter alongside to show change in status. Change is the only constant thing.

Thanks Ticktack.

Makes sense what you said.

Another couple of quick question

They ask for evidence of xxxx (my son) other parent lives i.e utility bills, but i am already submitting all the correspondence/letters/bills for last 2 years to prove me and my wife live in same household, how do i then prove this?

Evidence of accomodation and housing cost, I own the house without mortgage, so will the title deed be enough? because there is no other way i can show housing cost?

Thanks as always

Thank you all and have lovely weekend:)

Great thanks Koreckt.

Also, can someone please confirm that there will need to be biometrics appointment for spouse visa extension application within UK?

Or just need to upload all the documents online and pay all the appropriate fee?

Thanks

Thanks CR001

Bummer!

What if i am not able to get the appointment before my wife's current visa expires?

I heard service is moved to TLS contact now which is absolute nightmare to book from past experience.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

It doesn't matter.

The date of application is the date you submit and pay online and NOT the appointment date.

Thanks CR001,

Turns out no appointment available until 19th November from TLS contact as expected.
I am just worried this may not work in favour as not in my control despite paying and submitting application 20 days before it expires.

Also no appointments available nearby locations, I have already booked 19th as precautionary measure, does anyone know if i can potentially get earlier date at later stage and change the current one?

Thanks

I mean date of appointment is after the expiry of the visa, maybe i am overthinking, it would be just ideal to have it done within the visa expiry date
