Immigration option(s) for EU passport holder mother of British citizen?

Post by duongnt » Sun Oct 27, 2024 9:38 pm

Hi all,

I am a British citizen, currently living in UK with my family. My mother is currently holding a French passport and was staying in UK with us from 2012 until 2014. She had come back to her original home country of Vietnam since 2014 for health and other reasons. As such, she could not apply for EU settlement scheme after Brexit. She now want to come back to join us in UK but I am not sure if there is any immigration route for her to take. Could you please give me some pointer?

Thank you very much

Johnny

There's currently no route for her. Others might advise differently. But being the mother of a Brit holds no grounds. EU citizens and 3rd country nationals like you'd treat anyone else.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
