I am planning to apply for my naturalisation application and just wanted to double check what evidence is required.
I completed 5 years on Tier 2 work visa and then obtained ILR and have had it for nearly 3 years or so now.
Reading the Gov.uk website the evidence required seem quite "light" so wanted to be sure there is nothing else that we need to submit. Note: the application requires a minimum of documents - I know it's surprising, but it's not an immigration application. It has it's own rules and statutory requirements.
What I understand:
- Life in the UK : Completed for ILR, so need to re-do? Please confirm No need to re-do, valid for life.
- English Language : Completed degree in the UK, so this covers this. ok
- Evidence of ILR : BRP and evisa available. ok
- Two refrees : To be completed.ok
Don't forget passport as evidence of residency.
Is there anything else? Do I need to provide some form of finance etc? Like payslips or bank statements etc.? no! There are no financial requirements.
Also, is there anything specific to be provided for showing good character? For example fixed penalty notices related to parking etc. If you have some perhaps the proof of payment of fine. How do you get a comprehensive list of this? There's none.
Thank you in advance for the help!
Correct it is your name (for example, a single female comes to the UK on a work visa and marries a British citizen and changes her name or you change name by deed poll)1. First question asked is "Name in which you made the application" - I read this as My Name at the time of application and not the name of the application (e.g. ILR, Tier 2 etc.) - Is this correct? It should be my name?
All immigration applications as the questions asks (not visitor visas). You do NOT need every detail, some questions are "if know".2. How far back should I go? I only remember details really of my ILR application. Prior to that I have Tier 2 extension, Tier 2 first application and even before that Student visa. Do I have to provide all of these information? Honestly beyond my tier 2 extension I might struggle to find the relevant information.
You can travel, but you will have to attend the naturalisation ceremony in person within 90 days of getting approved.hmn2905 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 9:12 pmThank you for all your help.
I was wondering is it allowed to travel abroad while naturalisation application is in progress?
What happens if for example I get acceptance or such while abroad will it cause any issues getting back? I believe once we are accepted as naturalised citizen then we cannot travel with BRP anymore.
