Dependent visa after the main applicant grant ILR

Post by alialhoni » Fri Sep 13, 2024 8:04 pm

Hi

I will get ILR soon (skilled worker route), I am wondering what would be the visa type for my wife and my kid after I get ILR. I need to extend their visas as it is going to expire soon as well.

I only have 6 months left in my contract. Can I extend my wife's and my kid's visas for 1 year (beyond my work contract) as I will be having ILR or their visa has to match my work contract?
Thanks

This is irrelevant.

A Skilled Worker Dependent visa extension is granted for 3 years, you can't choose less time.
or their visa has to match my work contract?
This is irrelevant.

Extending skilled worker dependent visa after main applicant got ILR

Post by alialhoni » Sat Sep 14, 2024 11:40 am

Hi

I was told that, when the main applicant gets ILR, dependents can extend their visa for 3 years. I am wondering if the dependents can extend their visa for less period (say 1 year) to avoid paying a fortune for IHS. Thank you very much in advance.

No. It's 3 years only as pre immigration rules.

Can I get fee wavier for skilled worker dependent visa?

Post by alialhoni » Sat Sep 21, 2024 4:12 pm

Hi

The main applicant (Dad) has been granted ILR based on the skilled worker route. Now, dependents (2 kids and Mom) have to extend their visas. However, they are restricted to a 3-year extension (skilled worker dependent). Therefore, a huge amount of money is required, which they don't have.
Can they apply for a fee waiver in this case? will the fee waiver cover both the visa application fee and the IHS fee?

thanks

There is no fee waiver option as far as I am aware for the Skilled Worker visa or dependent visa route.

Fee Waiver for 'skilled worker dependent visa extension' when main applicant has ILR

Post by alialhoni » Mon Nov 25, 2024 6:36 pm

Hi

I am the main applicant; I received ILR in Nov 2024 based on skilled worker route. I want to extend the visa application for my wife and my kids. They don't have ILR yet, so I should use 'Skilled worker dependent visa extension'. Can I apply for the fee waiver for them?

thanks in advance
