Help with Tax Office Reference Number

Post by ksfatima30 » Tue Nov 26, 2024 10:28 am

Hi all,

I'm completing my UK Citizenship application and completed it all apart from the Tax Office Reference Number. Googling this its say that this is may PAYE number and I can find it in my Payslip/P60. I've also reached out to my employer to verify this and they mentioned the following:
Off Topic
We don't actually use tax office references anymore as we don't have individual tax offices. I would suggest calling the team who you are dealing with about this application to advise them of this.
Can I just put in my Paye Number?

This isn’t really an issue, use your PAYE reference which I suspect is the one required. You can be traced by your NI number anyway. As I said not an issue.

Yes, that's the number the application form asks for in that field.

Thank you! I'll put in the PAYE number.

I'm towards the end of completing my app now and got to the document section. They mentioned evidencing I have lived in the UK for 5 years (which I can do through my passport) and my referee declarations.

The referee declarations seems to ask for photographs? Is this my passport sized picture, if so can I just attach a digital version of a passport sized picture and send to my referees to sign and date and return? Does the signature have to be in wet ink format or can it be a digital one?

No need to attach a physical photo, digital one is OK. Digital signature also OK as far as it matches the one appearing on the passport (i.e. not typed).
