Help... SET M

Post by bigboy » Fri Jan 02, 2009 11:38 am

Hi, I recently sent off for my wifes ILR application, The house we live in is owned by parents and i enclosed a letter written bythe homeowner stating that me and my wife could live there for as long as we wish rent free.

I have received a letter from them now asking for a few things:

1) Documentary evidence of ownership of the marital home OR rent book / tenancy agreement AND a letter from the landlord/local authority confirming who is residing at the marital address. If living with in laws, 3 utility bills in there name.

2) College letter confirming at what level you were assessed at before commencing ESOL course and to what level you progressed.

3) Any additional information

So what do i need to enclose for (1)...? as she is living here with my family (HER IN LAWS) do we only provide the Utility Bills...?

Can someone please elaborate on this as i have to return these documents within 14days and iv only just got the letter TODAY with only 6 days left - due to xmas post delays!

Thanks

I would suggest you provide proof that your parents own or rent the property..i.e, mortgage agreement or rent book + utility bills in your parents names. If rented, letter from the landlord/local authority as requested.
Also the ESOL course information.

The Home Office wants proof that your parents own the home. You can ask your parents to ask the solictor/bank holding the title deeds to give you a copy of the the title deeds showing them to be in your parents name. If you cant do this then go here to this site and pay £3 and you can get it much quicker
http://www.landregistry.gov.uk/wps/port ... rty_Search.

Oce you have done this, send copies of your council tax bill, gas/electric or telephone bill that should be in your parents name.

A typed letter signed by your parents to say that there is ample space in the house and that you and your spouse can live here rent free untill such a time that you can afford your own

Also send them the ESOL doc that they also require.

This should be enough to satisfy the HO requirement

I dont understand why you had to write you were living there rent free? I am focusingon the rent free part of it.
