10 year settlement route ILR for self and dependents

Post by nvdmurty » Tue Dec 31, 2024 10:34 am

Hi all,

I am currently eligible to apply for ILR on the basis of 10 year continuous residence in the UK. I have already submitted my application and awaiting biometrics.

The question is for my dependents. They have also completed 10 year continuous residence in the UK (as PBS dependents) since we all arrived together to the country. The queries that I have are:

1. What form should I use to submit the ILR application for my dependents? Is is SET LR or something else?
2. Can their applications be submitted at the same time as mine or do I need to wait for the decision on my application?
3. Home office has asked for dependent details on my application which I have provided. Do they link the applications together?

Additionally, my SET LR application asks for the following

Evidence you have to prove the relationship with partner (for example marriage
certificates), and correspondence addressed either to you jointly, or in both of your names, or addressed
individually to you at the same address, to cover the last two years.

I have council tax bills and Thameswater bills, but they are either issued annually or every 6 months. Do I need to provide a bill/statement for each month or will the council tax statements suffice?

Under the long residence route, individuals will apply for ILR in their own right and must qualify independently. There is no link or dependant or anything else. Your relationship, spouse, children, etc do not matter at all. The doc list may ask for evidence of these in error but you do not need to provide any.

Thanks zimba. So each individual (including dependents) applies separately using the SET LR form?

Also, the application asked for dependent details which I entered. Are these also asked in error and not relevant to the application?

Yes, each must apply on their own and qualify on their own. The details of your dependants are not relevant. They are not relevant under the long residence
