What is the irp number?

Post by koooi525 » Fri Jan 03, 2025 3:19 pm

I trying to apply Schengen visa
So the form ask for identity number
So which one should I fill in? That's like three different numbers on the card.
Is registration number the correct one?

Hi,

You need to write your passport number at number 11 on the schengen visa form.

Your IRP number which is at the back of your card (registration number) has to be written on number 18.

Example 18.
Residence in a country other than the country of current nationality
Yes. Residence permit or equivalent No......4433273....... Valid until..2029....

**The valid untill should be the expiry date of your IRP card.

The top right should be the residence permit number/card number. And the other on top of the signature will be a link to your residence, since it has tactile feature it can be for those who rely on sense of touch.

The residence permit number at the top right is abit confusing since the form ask for residence permit then number and validity. The number at the back is for immigration/permission reference. The top right is only for the card. You use the back number for all immigration matters.

Schengen residence permits cards do not have registration numbers at the back because you do not register permissions and they have their own separate residence registrations. Prove is given in paper form.

Hope this helps.
