Dear all
I need some advice please. I am a British citizen. My Wife and two Children are on 5 year family route. They are finishing 5 years in march and we are applying for ILR for both wife and children.
This query is regarding my eldest child, who is now 23. She came to UK just before her 18th birth day via 5 year family route along with my wife as dependant child. I have supported her through Uni paying exuberant overseas tuition fee rates. Since August she started working and earning gross annual salary of 36,616. Technically she became financially self sufficient. She is single and she depend on us emotionally / psychologically for support. She works quite far from us and she now rents a flat at place of her work. We do meet as family once in 3-4 months.
When we applied for Extension 2 years ago, we claimed family connections / dependency based on tuition fees paid by parent and the regular calls (communication).
However, as the child grew up the visits were less frequent due to UNI work load and unfortunately most of the calls were made using Whatsapp, the records of which cant be obtained beyond a couple of months.
Now that she is earning for herself, does it make her not eligible to be included in the application as a dependant child?
If she can be included how do I prove that she is still a dependant child although not financially.
she started the job in July (2024), until then she was financially dependent on me.
Many thank for your help.
