Hi, thanks for sharing this. I understand that nobody knows who will be invited to this ceremony, but I had a rather unusual experience, and I wonder if anyone else might have been in a similar situation while hoping to be invited.

I received my approval letter at the beginning of December last month, and I immediately paid the 950 euros and received an initial email for the payment. However, I received another (second) approval letter later (identical to the first one) in December before holidays, which made me worried about why I received two letters, as I had already paid the fee.

When I checked my status online about 10 days ago, it showed "Pending Ceremony and Certificate." However, today it has changed to "Intention to Grant Sent." which makes no sense to me, why it is changed from "Pending Ceremony and Certificate." to "Intention to Grant Sent." while my approval letter has been issued around 2 months ago and the fee is paid.
Now, I am concerned that they might send me a third approval letter, which could delay my invitation to the ceremony.

That's an interesting one, and obviously I don't have any insight, but I paid back in October and received:
1. An email the day I paid, confirming that my payment had been received
2. An email 4 days later confirming that my payment had been processed and I would receive a letter in due course regarding the final stage of the citizenship application

Are you certain your two emails are identical? Mine look very similar, and at a passing glance could be misconstrued as duplicates.

My portal doesn't show any change in status at this point ("Pending Ceremony and Certification") and I'm really hoping to be invited in February. As I understand it, a large number of participants at the last ceremony applied on or before mid-February 2024 - I applied March 2024, so fingers crossed I am at the top of the pile.

I don't think any invites for the February ceremonies have been issued yet (based on a facebook group, here and reddit), but one would expect they should at least begin some point next week (Feb 13th is only 3 weeks away after all!).

I will update if my status in the portal changes, whether I receive an invite or not...
I hope your result is positive!

Have you checked spam folder? If not check for Email from Department of Justice Events /
citizenshipinfo@justice.ie. I have received it in my spam on 08Nov24.

I actually didn't receive the second email after I paid. Only the first email immediately after i paid. The whole thing is a bit confusing for me as my status has changed from "Pending Ceremony and Certificate." to "Intention Grant Sent" which i assume "Intention Grant Sent" is one step behind of "Pending Ceremony and Certificate." So i am anxious if I receive again another (third) approval letter. I already sent a message in the system to them i hope they reply. Between I am an early 2022 applicant

Anyone has any insight if "Intention Grant Sent"is actually one step behind "Pending Ceremony and Certificate."?

You are right. You should get Intention of Grant Sent first, and then Pending Ceremony and Certificate.

They always send invitation by email. My status is now "Pending to Ceremony and Certification" which I hope it means I will be invited, but I have not received any invitation email yet ....

They’ve never yet sent invitations by email, always by post. Who knows what they’ll do in the future, but process until now has been ceremony invitations exclusively by post. Letter with an online link to confirm attendance . You can’t register without the letter as it has unique details in it.

Invitations were sent by email in December.

Actually, you’re correct of course. I had a brain melt and was thinking of the approvals and payment process. Ignore my post above, sorry for confusion.

Just to add to that, invitations for online applications are sent by email. Paper applications will vary but most of them are still sent by letter.

Good for you! That’s one of the oldest applications I’ve seen so far.
