Hi everyone, I have a question regarding visa applications and police records, and I would really appreciate your advice.
My girlfriend recently encountered an unfortunate situation. We had a minor argument, emotions were running high, and when she tried to hold me back, she accidentally scratched my hand. A bystander misunderstood the situation and called the police. When the police arrived, they arrested her on the spot and took her to the station. Despite me explaining that it was just a misunderstanding, the police still took her DNA sample, conducted an interview, and recorded her information in the FNC (Forensic Nominal Record).
The next day, the police informed us that they would not be pressing any charges (No Further Action, NFA) and released her. They explained that since it was a public report, they had to follow standard procedures.
We are now really worried about whether this arrest (without charges) will affect her future UK visa applications (e.g., PSW, work visa, ILR) or visa applications for other countries (such as Schengen or the U.S.).
Additionally, we have heard that it may be possible to request the deletion of this record (Deletion Request), but we are unsure if this type of case qualifies for deletion. Does anyone have similar experiences or know how to handle this situation? We are both international student.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
