Outside UK stay duration for Family or Private Life visa category

I am a British national originally from Pakistan. My parents live here with me in the UK. They got visa based on “Family or Private Life” category. It’s a 10 years route where they have to extend visa after every two and a half years.

They would like to visit Pakistan. Any idea for “Family or Private Life” category, how long they can stay out of the UK. Some people say six months and some say three months but I can’t find any official information.
