Visit Visa Multiple Entry

My mother in law holds a 5 year visit visa and comes and goes occasionally

Her last visit was 4 months and she left the UK in Oct.

We have a family emergency in the UK and she may need to come back for a few weeks. We do not want to cause issue with her visit at the border or subsequent re entries. Do we provide her a cover letter explaining why she's returning within 6 months?

Husband's timeline - overstayer 11 yrs
08/16 - FLR (FP) Partner, refused 02/18, 03/18 - JR permission refused with merit
08/18 - FLR FP (Partner) PSC - Approved
07/20 - FLR FP to FLR M Switch - Approved, 03/23 FLR M Ext Approved.

I'm sure she should be fine. She hasn't been here in 4 months now.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
