Cancelling Universal Credit application

Hi All, As I have made redundant recently, I have applied for Universal Credit Benefit for the first time but it is time to apply for my husband's spouse visa extension. My solicitor said to cancel the Universal Credit claim.
My interview with Universal Credit team is next week , as this is still in initial stage. How do I cancel the claim? I can see an option, stating work circumstances change and I was suppose to enter the date from when this has changed. Will the Universal Credit team ask for any evidence , such as offer letter from the employer ? If I cancel this, will I be able to re-apply in future in case, If I couldn't find any job? Thanks in advance. Much appreciated your suggestions.

If you have been made redundant how will you he able to satisfy the financial requirement for the spouse visa? Why cancel UC if you have no income? Dies your spouse work? Do you have health issues?
