Man oh man, I hope this happens as quickly as everyone else's - I stupidly thought I'd be able to travel on my US passport with eVisa / settled status until such a time as I was able to apply for a British passport, but found out yesterday this wasn't the case and now I'm in a mad panic as my holiday is on 19 July! Eek! Wish me luck!

Although £15 was paid for secure postage covering three applications, all documents were placed in a single paper folio and handled carelessly. As a result, the naturalisation certificates were received wrinkled and not in the condition expected for official documents.

Update: Got a text & email last night at around 7.30pm (10/06) advising that I required to book a routine passport interview. Called right away (as they are open until 8pm) and got one booked for this Friday, 13 June. Call handler advised that after the interview, I should receive my passport within 7-10 days! Fingers crossed it comes a bit quicker than that!

On 21/05/2025, I used the online form to contact passport office instead of the webchat (as the webchat agents have been given me the same unhelpful answer which was to wait for the supporting documents to be scanned into the system) stating clearly that I have an urgent need to travel for work purposes and would like the process to be expedited. I received email response within two hours telling me that the request has been noted in the system. The next morning (22/05/2025) I got a call at 9am following up on the request, updating me that the documents had now been scanned, and within minutes I received approval email. Would recommend using the online form instead of the webchat for better services/responses.

Once the passport has been printed, you could track the status of shipping of your new passport and supporting documents using Royal Mail tracking services - the tracking number will be your 10-digit passport application number without the "PEX" prefix. I find this to be the fastest way to track if documents have been shipped as the Passport Office didn't send me any email informing me of the shipping or updating me of tracking numbers, and the webchat was slow.
