Hello there,
I am seeking advice regarding eligibility for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) under the 10-year long residence route.
I first arrived in the UK for work in September 2011 through ICT Tier 2 and have since been living here with my spouse and two children. I have had two periods where I was required to be outside the UK for more than 180 days due to work commitments once in February 2014 to Dubai and India, back to the UK during Dec 2015 through ICT tier 2 and again in September 2020 to Frankfurt, Germany , back to the UK during Aug 2021 through Skilled worker visa.
My elder son is currently in his second year studying Biomedical Science at Coventry University, and my younger son is in Year 8. We purchased a property in Dec 2022, which has been our family home since.
At present, I am employed under a Skilled Worker visa; however, my current role is being made redundant. I am now short of just over a year to complete five years under the Skilled Worker category. Given current market conditions, I am finding it increasingly difficult to secure a new role with sponsorship, despite vacancies being available.
Having lived since 2011 in the UK, with strong personal and family ties established here—including my children’s education and home ownership—it would be extremely challenging to consider relocating at this stage.
I would like to understand the viability of applying for ILR under the 10-year residence route. Appreciate your time and efforts
Kind Regards,
Venki
