Dependent Visa extension after ILR received

Post by talreh20 » Thu May 22, 2025 8:04 pm

Dear Respected members,

Asking on behalf of a friend.
His wife was on Skilled Worker Visa and received her ILR on this basis last week. He is on his wife's dependent visa for 3 years which is expiring in next few days. I understand he simply needs to extend his visa for another 2 years to qualify for ILR but he needs to pay IHT for 3 years. He is completing the form and is not sure about the below questions:
1st question: The form is asking for Certificate of Sponsorship number for his wife. Does he still need to enter that despite his wife has received the ILR? If yes, does he need to enter to the same COS number which she used to extend her skilled worker visa?
2nd questions: 'Does she already have their skilled worker visa?' The options are 'Yes' & 'No'. Which one should he select since his wife has ILR.
3rd question: What is her UAN? Can he put the one for her ILR or does that need to be the one she received for her skilled worker visa extension?
4th question: Is her job on the immigration salary list? I believe this is the new name for Shortage of occupation list. Her code was 2421. I believe this code is not on that list. So he should answer no to that question. Can you please confirm.

Thank you all as always.

It is a 3 year extension, NOT a 2 year one.
1st question: The form is asking for Certificate of Sponsorship number for his wife. Does he still need to enter that despite his wife has received the ILR? If yes, does he need to enter to the same COS number which she used to extend her skilled worker visa?
Yes.
2nd questions: 'Does she already have their skilled worker visa?' The options are 'Yes' & 'No'. Which one should he select since his wife has ILR.
Answer yes.
3rd question: What is her UAN? Can he put the one for her ILR or does that need to be the one she received for her skilled worker visa extension?
Yes, ILR one is fine.
4th question: Is her job on the immigration salary list? I believe this is the new name for Shortage of occupation list. Her code was 2421. I believe this code is not on that list. So he should answer no to that question. Can you please confirm.
If not on the list, then obviously it is No.

Dear respected members,

my friend's application for extension is rejected as invalid today. The reason given is you have not paid the correct IHS.

When they completed the form, the system asked them to pay the amount which was below the required amount. The email also mentions that Home office emailed him on 23rd May and that they have not received any response in 14 days.

My friend has confirmed that he has not received any emails from the home office asking to pay the remaining amount.

What are his options now? His current visa has already expired on 27th May. How long has he got to re-apply? or how long has he got leave the country?

Can he lodge a complaint? Is there a phone number available? is there any email address?
