Citizenship application - English language requirement for ILR Holders

Post by ad2525 » Sat Jun 21, 2025 9:20 pm

Hello Everyone,

I am applying for my citizenship via naturalisation. I got my ILR va T2 visa route after 5 years in 2023. During my ILR application, I did not submit any specific document for english language requirement. I mentioned yes for the question on degree being taught in English (I have a Bacelor of Engineering degree from India).

For my citizenship application, I have the following document requirement:
Ecctis letter that confirms the qualification meets or exceeds the recognised standard of a Bachelor's or Masters degree or PhD in the UK AND confirm the level of English to which the degree was taught or researched

Since I have alreay received my ILR and I will also be submitting my degree certificate for my citizenship application, do I still need to get the Ecctis letter or take up the english language test?

I'm very confused with this, any help would be very useful! Thanks

How did you prove your knowledge of English for your visa applications?
