It is the date the visa was issued which is the start of the qualifying period.drmbilal77 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 10, 2025 7:19 pmMany thanks, that was very helpful.
I would be grateful if you could kindly advise on the following question:
Can I apply for my dependant based on the date their visa vignette was issued (03/08/2020), or does the five-year start from the date of entry into the UK (20/09/2020)?
The issue is that my son may lose his university offer if we have to wait until 20/09.
Thank you again

Skilled worker dependents can use super priority if it is available. They also have the option of 5 days priority service.secret.simon wrote: ↑Thu Jul 10, 2025 8:10 pmI'm not sure that the super-priority option is available for dependents of Skilled worker.
In the list of the visas that is eligible for super-priority, dependents of other types of visas are listed individually, but dependents of skilled worker visas are not.
If your child is ineligible for starting their course this year, it may be worth asking the university if they can take a gap year and start next year.
This post has nothing to do with a SET(M) application. The OP applied incorrectly using this form and was not even under the family route. If you have any queries, start your own separate post.Alma_Adam wrote: ↑Sun Jul 13, 2025 10:44 pmHi Drmbilal77,
I’m sorry to hear about the outcome of your ILR application – I can only imagine how disappointing that must have been.
I’m currently preparing to submit my ILR application next month under the SET (M) route and am planning to opt for the Super Priority service. I would be very grateful if you could kindly share how you were able to secure a Super Priority slot, and if possible, advise what time slots tend to become available or when you were able to successfully book yours.
Thank you very much in advance for your time and assistance.
