If I apply for Citizenship and my passport expires before the biometric appointment, will my application be rejected ?

Post by bashabi » Mon Jul 14, 2025 11:37 pm

Hi,
I am a Bangladeshi passport holder living in the UK since 2008. I received Indefinite Leave to Remain status in the UK in 2019. My husband is a British citizen.
I am going to apply for UK citizenship. But my Bangladeshi passport has an expiry date; it will expire in 4 weeks. If I apply now and my Bangladeshi passport expires before the biometric appointment, will my naturalisation application be rejected?
Please let me know.
Thanks.

It will be OK. Just attend the appointment with the old passport.
