1
Marriage certificate will suffice. There’s no requirement to produce a document issued in the UK.
2
This isn’t an issue and no need to disclose. It’s not an offence. At this time HMRC finalises all tax payers final tax liability. I’m waiting myself for the final number, hopefully a refund.

Thank you for your prompt response.

Someone advised to explain the HMRC tax in a cover letter. Is it necessary? Or can I leave it safely?

Thanks again.

It's not an issue, as long as you keep to payment arrangements with HMRC.
It would be different if you default, you are taken to court, maybe guilty of tax evasion (a crime).

Thank you for your quick response.

Is this the correct form for applying for naturalisation as a spouse of British citizen?
https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... on-form-an

I believe I have to choose the 'you can apply online' as I am in the UK (Scotland):

Details
If you do not live in the Channel Islands, Isle of Man or a British Overseas Territory, you can apply online.

Thanks

Form AN is the only form for adult naturalisation it covers all scenarios for adults.
Apply online.

Thank you.
  • When entering the under 18 child information, application is asking for National ID Card. The current one is expired. Should I enter it anyway?
  • Should we mention in the cover letter that we applied for a renewal?

Foreign national ID card is irrelevant to british naturalisation. You can ignore this question.

Thank you,

One more question, please.

My spouse had a different last name before marriage, which was changed to my first name after marriage. We never mentioned it in any of our previous applications, as the current qualifications, ID cards, and passports are not in the changed name, and we have never used the old name since entering the UK. However, the marriage certificate is in the previous name.

In this case, what should we do? Because we would be asked to provide the marriage certificate, which is in a different name, but we never mentioned the change of name in any of our applications.

Please advise.
