Citizenship for kids after ILR

I have just received my ILR and want to apply for my kids citizenship registration. Both have different scenarios.

1st child: Born in UK in March 2016, left UK same Oct 2016 year and returned in 2021 and been with me in UK since then. Currently has valid visa and non-uk passport. Will the period of absence impact on their citizenship application?

2nd Child: Born in UK in July 2018 and has not left UK since birth, no passport or visa. What nationality do they have? Mine? Or stateless. Will not having a visa impact on their citizenship registration? Will there be any consequences for having no visa since birth?

No issue - there are no absence limits as for adults.

Child has your nationality. Children born in the UK don't need a visa or ILR so no issue. Though you will need private cover for NHS services (except for emergencies).

I do know that the NHS often chases retrospectively, certainly for large bills.
Clearly if the Home Office knows there are large bills outstanding (you haven't paid) then that could impact any application.

You need to settle any NHS bills that come your way before you apply for registration for your children.

Not the Home Office, but the relevant NHS trust can and likely will charge you 150% of any costs of the treatment, as more pressure is brought to bear on the NHS to find money.

Typically only hospital treatment is chargeable. To the best of my knowledge, GP appointments and treatments are free of charge. Hospital treatments, even ones that are recommended by the GP or by A&E, will typically be chargeable.

It will not affect the children's registration as British citizens though, as both the children were born in the UK and therefore have an entitlement (i.e. cannot be refused) to register as British citizens if the conditions (their birth in the UK and at least one parent having ILR) are met.

That may depend on the laws of the country of your nationality and on those of the country of the mother's (if different from yours). What nationalities do you and the mother hold?
