Has anyone here who overstayed in the past and submitted their application after 1st of May been given a decision?

Is overstaying the only factor against your good character? Why asking about applications submitted after th 1st May? the guidance wasn't updated lately on this aspect.

The new guidelines count breaches of immigration rules such as overstaying or illegal working as not having a time limit since May 2025 where previously a 10 year rule existed

Can you provide a link to the new guidelines that you are referring to?

I can't seem to find anything newer than the February 2025 guidance.

You didn't answer my previous question regarding other factors against your good character. As secret.simon also said, there hasn't been a change in guidance for citizenship since last February.

Can you elaborate more on your situation? When was your overstay, and do you have any other adverse factors against your good character?

I overstayed for 10 years following unsuccessful asylum application-from 1998 to 2008. I was just a young man and didn’t know better. I left on my own accord. A year after leaving I wanted to come for a wedding but was refused entry. I later came legally via EU route in 2018, have settled status. Should be just that.

As you left of your own accord more than 10 years ago, it should be fine. Just explain that you regret your past mistakes and that your current history is clean.
