Application stuck on ‘Received’ – missing stages in portal

Post by BMX2010 » Wed Aug 13, 2025 7:02 pm

Bit confused about the application stages.

The timelines posted for 2022–2025 show:
Applied → Acknowledgement → eVetting (ISD & Garda) → Approval → Ceremony → Certificate.

But in my portal it’s:
Received → Accepted → In Progress → Decision → Complete.

I submitted mine 3 weeks ago and it’s still on “Received.”

Is there a stage I’m missing?

Ta

Hi There,

I'm not sure all applications are identical. I can share what I've experienced thus far.

The portal also has subheadings called "Detailed status".

Received = Applied(This is when you have completed the application and paid the €175). You also get an automated Acknowledgement.
Accepted = At this point, they are happy with your documentation and "Accept" your application, which then goes into eVetting (ISD & Garda). It can take between 4 and 8 months to get to this step.
In Progress = eVetting is complete, they compile your documentation and send it through to the minister who then gives the final approval and you get an "Intention to grant letter"
Decision = Basically approved a this point and the status changes to waiting for ceremony after you paid the €950.
Complete = I'm not at this point, but I imagine the status changes to complete while waiting for your certificate.

I hope this helps.

Hi Dan

Thanks. I’m still stuck in “Received.” Hopefully it won’t take too long to move to “Accepted.” I had thought that “Accepted” on the portal meant the application had been formally acknowledged, rather than being fully processed with all the associated documents. I guess once I reach the “Accepted” stage, I’m pretty much okay, aside from the waiting period?

Cheers
