Advice Needed - Applying for Minor Visas to UK on Compassionate Ground - Husband Died

Post by Nisar1 » Tue Aug 26, 2025 6:30 am

Hi Expert,

I am seeking advice for one of my relative.

She carried in UK on student visa in May 2025. She had 2 kids, (daughter 6 yrs and Son 5 yrs), back home with their father. After one month of her arrival, her husband expired due to a sudden cardiac arrest.

Now the minors are in custody of her brother but as he can’t keep them long. What options she have to apply for their visas as her studies are yet not completed and neither she can go back as her all fees will go wasted.

Plz advice.

Is she studying for a bachelor's degree, a master's degree or a doctorate?

And if she is studying, would she have sufficient income to support herself and two children, given that, as a student, she is not allowed to work more than 20 hours a week?

May not be a good enough reason for the Home Office.

Also see this thread about bringing children to the UK on compassionate grounds.
