Fee Waiver (FPL)

Post by mikegrant » Wed Aug 27, 2025 9:53 pm

Hi honourable moderators,

I am on a 10-year LTR route based on Family or Private Life (FPL). I have recently made an application for a fee waiver on my 3rd application in May 2025 - I have now completed 5 years on this route. This fee waiver application was made before my BRP expired in June by a caseworker of an accredited immigration service. I was asked to provide additional information for consideration of the fee waiver. I provided all information which were submitted on my behalf.

I have not been able to generate code on Home Office website since my BRP expired. I needed to generate a share code for letting purposes. I then decided to attempt once more using my expired BRP, and I was surprised by the information displayed regarding my status. It stated that my Family or Private Life status has expired!

How is that possible when I made an on-time fee waiver application? I have not received any update since providing additional information, so my application has not been decided! The supplied additional information they requested was submitted on time by my case worker.

My understanding is that while my fee waiver application is in progress, my leave to remain remains valid until a decision is made on the fee waiver application. After this, whether successful or unsuccessful, I would be given about 10 days to make my visa renewal application.

Could anyone please advise if the decision to end my status before confirming my fee waiver application is the process or a mistake? I have not done this waiver before.

Thank you for your support and advice.

It will show as expired regardless. Until a decision is made it will be expired in evisa because it has gone past the expiry date.
