Switching from Tier 2 General to Dependant Visa INSIDE UK

Post by kumarcrm48 » Sat Aug 30, 2025 9:05 pm

Hi everyone,
I’m currently in the UK on a Tier 2 General visa. My wife is also on a Tier 2 General visa. I want to switch my status from Tier 2 General to become her dependent on her Tier 2 visa.

Can anyone guide me on:

Which application form I need to use,

The process for applying, and

Any useful information or documents required?

Thanks in advance for your help!

There is no longer a Tier 2 general visa. It is called a Skilled Worker visa now.

You apply on the Skilled Worker dependent visa form.

The UKVI has the information you need.

Note that your 5 year ILR clock will rest to zero if you switch to dependent visa.
