Naturalisation Application & Child Benefits

Dear Moderators

Background:
1st Kid born overseas. Came to the UK in 2016 on Tier 2 Dependant visa with my wife.
2 kids born in the UK.
My ILR on long residency in Jul 2019
2 kids received British registration and British passports in Dec 2019
My Naturalisation approval: Sep 2023
My wife and 1st Kid ILR Nov 2024.
I applied for child benefits for 2 kids born in the UK in 2022.

Issue:
Applied for 1st kid child benefits soon after she received ILR In Nov 2024. I mentioned in the cover letter to not to backdate it to 3 months as she had no recourse to public funds.
Child benefits office still went ahead and paid for back dated three months.

So I am now looking to apply for my wife's naturalisation and kid's British registration.
Will there be any issues with her British registration? I am really worried about this. I have dummy completed the form. The form doesn't ask for any questions regarding benefits.

Please advise.

Have you tried to contact the DWP and explain you should return the funds? I am not familiar enough with ILR and recourse to public funds to be able to comment in more detail.

No, i haven't contacted them. I want to check what is the ruling on this as she is not the one applying for the benefits. Its me. So she is not getting the child benefits. Its on my name.

I'll wait for other moderators to comment as well.
