Documents for Naturalisation

Post by mail2apkr » Sun Nov 16, 2025 1:21 pm

Hi All,

Please accept my apologies if it has already answered/responded with this question, I could see some of them but it is getting confused.

We ( myself, spouse and 2 kids aged 14 and 11) are in the process of applying the naturaliation, we have got the ILR in Jan 2024.

Kids born in India

Once I submit the application it has shown huge number of document list, I believe they are more repeated. It is not good to paste here as well

  • Do we need old passtports with all pages as well ? Kids passport has changed in 2022, initial stamp is in Old passport
  • Do we need to upload the ILR BRP cards( expired ones) and any e-visa ( right to live share codes) ?
  • Parental responsibility for both kids --- Birth Certificate enough ?
  • what would the consent letter for both kids ? -- self written ?
  • It is asking for Proof of living in the UK for both adults -- does all pass port pages enough or do need to upload council tax or any other bills etc ?
  • Referee declarations -- we are using the same persons( two referees) for all of us ( seperate copy for each one ) , would that be fine ? also we dont have GP or class teacher letters
  • It is again asking Kids birth certificate in the check list -- I would think one is sufficient, just please confirm
Thanks in Advance

Only the passport(s) covering the residence period of five years, forkids only current passport.

NO BRP cards they are now defunct - only reference number for eVisa - they have you on their system anyway.
  • Parental responsibility for both kids --- Birth Certificate enough ?
Yes
  • what would the consent letter for both kids ? -- self written ?
Link here-: viewtopic.php?t=358433#p2202849 - NO letters!
  • It is asking for Proof of living in the UK for both adults -- does all pass port pages enough or do need to upload council tax or any other bills etc ?
Passports only
  • Referee declarations -- we are using the same persons( two referees) for all of us ( seperate copy for each one ) , would that be fine ? also we dont have GP or class teacher letters
only referee declarations are required - NO letters from anyone.
  • It is again asking Kids birth certificate in the check list -- I would think one is sufficient, just please confirm
One is ok

Thanks in Advance

Thank you so much for your swift response

so we could use the same person(s) for each applicant, correct ?

also, we don't need to upload old( expired) BRPs or e-visa reference number screenshot, right?
because in one teh check list for kid(s)

If Kid1/ Kids2 told us that their parent is settled in the UK then you must
provide us evidence of their settled status. This could include a BRP, a letter from the Home Office, an
endorsement in their passport or another document certifying permanent residence.

So in a nutshell , here are the documents that we need upload , please suggest if we are missing anything

1. Both adults passports all pages with covering 5 years of proof
2. Both kids latest passports(no need old ones although they have initial stamp)
3. Kids Birth Certificates and Parents Marriage Certificate
4. Parents Consent Letter
5. Referee Declarations ( 4 from each referree, so total 8 documets)
6. UK nationality & Visa Certificate and Degree certificate for both Adults

Anything missing, please suggest

Yes - if they qualify as referees.

BRPs are no longer valid and replaced by eVisa - provide eVisa reference numbers

That's the eVisa ILR holders have been given replacing BRP cards. Note the many UKVI instructions are still not up to date for terminalogy.

ok - but for 6 you mean the "Life in the UK" test
Anything missing, please suggest

For 6, I meant English language certificate along with Degree qualification

Do we need to upload life in the UK pass email details ?

We have updated the reference number in the application form already

Reference number in the application is sufficient.
