ILR Family route

Post by Mamamoss123 » Sun Nov 23, 2025 10:30 am

Hello,

I was granted a spouse visa in April 2017, 10 year route. I've kept up with extensions and my last (current) visa is a 5 year route. Granted in 2024, expires in 2026.
I'm confused if I can apply for ILR now under the 5 year route as I've been in the UK over 5 years with no breaks. It says I can't consider time on any other visa, but I'm unsure if 10 year route counts as a different visa since they're both spouse?

10 year and 5 year route have different immigration rules, so they are different yes.

You can't use 10 year route time to apply based on 5 years with only one extension on 5 year route.

You either qualify for ilr based on long residence in 2027 or on the 5 year route in 2029.
