Naturalization Query

Hi All,

I’m planning to submit my naturalisation application this week and I’ve already booked my holiday travel to India on 20th December.

Could someone please confirm whether the Home Office requires me to submit/send my passport for verification after the application is submitted? I want to make sure that I will still be able to travel after submitting the application.

I also have a question regarding the biometrics appointment — do we book this during the application process, or is it arranged after submission?

Finally, based on your experience, would it be wiser to apply before my trip, or wait and apply after I return in the second week of January?

Any guidance or advice would be greatly appreciated.

No originals are submitted - only scans uploaded online.
I also have a question regarding the biometrics appointment — do we book this during the application process, or is it arranged after submission?
Booking will be enabled when you have submitted and paid.
Finally, based on your experience, would it be wiser to apply before my trip, or wait and apply after I return in the second week of January?
Your choice, as long as your absences remain below the totals allowed. You don't say how long you'll be away. You may not get a convenient appointment befor you leave. Perhaps it's safer to apply after your return. There are no deadlines to meet for your naturalisation submission.
